     yellowdot.gif (864 bytes) Fines

Books - 10 cents per day for each day the library is open.

Pamphlets - 10 cents per day for each day the library is open.

Audio Materials - 10 cents per day for each day the library is open.

CD-ROMs - 10 cents per day. $10.00 maximum fine on overdue CDs.

The maximum fine on books, pamphlets, audio materials and art prints is $5.00.

Inter-Library Loan - 25 cents per day for each day the library is open.

Videocassettes - $1.00 per day for each day the library is open. $10.00 maximum fine on overdue videocassettes. If they are dropped in the book drop, the charge is $5.00 per tape in addition to the $1.00 overdue fine.*

*Since non-book materials may not be placed in the book drop, at the Bridgewater Branch there is a media drop, after hours, for those materials.  The drop is located to the right of the main entrance of the library.

Now that the library system is computerized, overdue notices are automatically generated after two weeks. After six weeks, a lost notice, which includes the price of the item plus a processing fee, is mailed to the patron.

A person may not be allowed to borrow items if:

  • 100 items are checked out to that person.
  • Unpaid fines are $10.00 or more.
  • More than 10 items are overdue.
  • More than 5 items have been claimed returned.
  • Updated information necessary for card renewal has not been provided.
  • Outstanding fines have not been settled at time of card renewal.
The Library Commission may change the rules regarding eligibility for cards, checkouts or fines at any regular meeting.
